  • Even though they highly disagreed on political and social topics, John Wayne and Roscoe Lee Browne both loved poetry and would quote their favorite verses between takes

  • Some of the boys’ parents are played by their actual parents

  • A Martinez wasn’t the original choice to play Cimarron, but the first actor couldn’t learn to ride a horse and the second got into legal trouble and ended up in jail
